Frequently Asked Questions

Find the Answers You Need

How can couple, family, or individual therapy help me?

Our licensed therapists provide professional guidance and support that help couples and families deal with ongoing relationship issues and family conflict. Counseling helps those struggling with specific issues by providing a safe and positive environment to express concerns, identify core issues and find practical therapeutic solutions to their problems.

How many therapy sessions will I need?

The number of sessions varies for each couple, family, or individual, depending on your particular situation. Our therapists begin with an in-depth evaluation in which they will discuss your primary goals. This will help them estimate the required number of sessions.

Is couple and family counseling confidential?

We place the utmost important on providing a safe and secure environment for couples and families to express themselves. Our therapists are required by law to respect and protect client confidentiality. The only circumstances in which this would change is when an individual displays an intent to harm themselves or others. In these cases, we are required by law to disclose client information to the relevant authorities.

Can I attend a couple or family counseling session alone?

It’s always best for couples and families to attend sessions together. However, if one partner or family member is unwilling or unable to attend, we may recommend you consider individual counseling instead. You can talk to our team to discuss the best option for you.

What can I expect in my first session?

In your first session, we’ll explore the primary issue and core struggles that prompted you to seek counseling. Our trained therapists will then help you and your partner, or you and your family members, set precise goals that will ensure you derive the maximum benefit from therapy.

How can I get the most out of my sessions?

Counseling can be a very rewarding experience for couples and families who are seeking practical solutions to their problems and fully committed to resolving the issues they are facing. Active and willing participants achieve the best results from our effective counseling programs.

How much will I owe if I use insurance?

We can give you a preliminary estimate of what you might owe when you arrive at our office, and we try to collect co-pays/deductible at the beginning or end of session. However, we will also be able to give you an electronic remittance advice (ERA) which indicates EXACTLY what you owe for your co-pay, co-insurance, or deductible (if applicable). Each insurance plan is unique and each company may offer unique plans, even though they have the same carrier. Learn more about your insurance options.
